Your website may be doing a fair business. If so, congratulations. If not--or if you simply want to take your targeted website promotion to the next level--here are 4 keys to making that work for you.

Key 1: Refresh Your Content

If you are experiencing a downturn in the number of hits on your website, you may need to rewrite some of your content. People who have been to your site may click off if they have been there before and seen it all already. “Been there done that” is not an emotion you want to elicit among your customers. You can also change design.

Key 2: Post Articles

It doesn’t matter of it’s op ed or news of your business. Get some new information on your website, and announce it in other places like blogs and forums.

Key 3: Developing a Following

You can increase your targeted website promotion exposure by writing articles about your type of business or concerns that you know something about that relate to it. Offer these to other websites in exchange for backlinks, or you could even sell them to online publications if they are good. Hire them to be ghostwritten if you need to.

Key 4: Check Current Advertising

If you have ads placed out there in cyperspace, check on them frequently. Make sure they are there, first of all, and make sure they work. Check statistics. Rewrite and redesign old stale ads. Check PPC ads and make sure they are still working for your targeted web site promotion--if not, eliminate or change them.
